The Twilight Mask
03:23
|
|||
Shockingly cavalier with your red hands,
Do you take me for a canvas?
The hours burn on with utter disregard
as though I'm standing at the axis.
Save your breath for me my dear,
I won't be home when you get here.
If I pull down the stars tonight,
Would you rather live by candle light?
Soon you'll find you'll be consumed
By shadows you're letting surround you.
Take off your mask only to see,
I've never known the truth.
You're but a ghost of a life that could have been
and I've the scars you left with me as proof.
Maybe this time next year,
The tables will be turned my dear.
If I pull down the stars tonight,
Would you rather live by candle light?
Soon you'll find you'll be consumed
By shadows you're letting surround you.

Sorry for the afterglow;
Painting lovely this affair...
It's gorgeous hues of pink and gold
Deceive romantic debonair
Come what may,
Is my name written in heaven?
Come what may,
Will you help my heart to open?
Warm light; red as the sun
I feel you here...
Follow into madness,
For lack of fear...
Come what may,
Is my name written in heaven?
Come what may,
Will you help my heart to open?
I believe, help my disbelief
I believe, help my disbelief
Come what may,
Is my name written in heaven?
Come what may,
Will you help my heart to open?

February

Breathing cold February air,
Still it was warmer than your harsh words.
When the snow melts, I hope that spring is in full bloom.
Your words can leave with the seasons to bring me something new.
You're all I knew.
Your mouth dripped sweet candor,
I can't recall why I played the fool.
Crush me in dreams of golden repose,
Oh remnant of my better years.
I've heard you've flown to different countries,
Yet here I am, a tourist, in my own memories.
The irony is stuff of fiction, and tragedy.
I think I'd rather merely be tertiary.
Your mouth dripped sweet candor,
I can't recall why I played the fool.
Crush me in dreams of golden repose,
Oh remnant of my better years.

Oh mother, I've missed you lately,
When the sea cradles like your arms around me.
Oh wonderful. I'm only drifting,
I'm losing sleep to this fear of sinking.
Into the depths, (Down below, down below)
Can I surrender? (In your arms, mother dear)
Into your arms, Mother dear,
Is it safer on the land?
Oh Poseidon, please show mercy.
This is my last time being lost to sea...
Oh Father, think fondly of me as I'm
Sitting here, at the bottom of the sea.
Into the depths, (Down below, down below)
Can I surrender? (In your arms, mother dear)
Into your arms, Mother dear,
Is it safer on the land?

origami Fort Collins, Colorado
origami's sound is difficult to define simply, because each member brings something completely different to the table.
Chaotic, complex, melodic, poetic, and painted in various shades of youthful frustration.
origami is truly unlike any of the music you hear in the Northern Colorado scene, though you'll need to see them live to understand it.
